Engineer-in-Training

Job Description

MTI is seeking a recent or soon-to-be graduate with a BS in Civil Engineering to join our team as an Engineer-in-Training. This entry-level role offers hands-on exposure to the fundamentals of geotechnical engineering, field investigations, and construction materials testing. Working under the mentorship of our senior geotechnical engineer, you’ll participate in site explorations and help prepare evaluations and recommendations for a wide range of public and private sector projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and executing geotechnical subsurface investigations
  • Conduct field testing and site inspections
  • Analyze field and laboratory data to support engineering recommendations
  • Draft technical reports and communicate findings to clients and team members
  • Support senior engineers on project coordination and documentation

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering (completed or near completion)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • EIT certification or intent to pursue is preferred
  • Willingness to work in both field and office environments
  • Interest in geotechnical engineering and construction practices

Salary

Starting at $60,000–$65,000, commensurate with experience.
